VECHTA, Germany, Oct. 1, 2016–Sir Olli (Sir Donnerhall I x Florestan I x Landadel) was the most expensive horse at €370,000 (US$416,000) at the Oldenburg Fall Elite Auction Saturday, the six-year-old world championship bronze medal winner going to Spain.
Denoix (Destano x Pik Noir x Quattro B), a four-year-old stallion that was the Oldenburg vice champion, was the second most expensive horse at €300,000 (US$337,000) and went to the United States. Rikki’s Zauber (Dante Weltino x Don Gregory x Mamori xx) was also sold to the USA for €140,000 (US$157,000).
Floral Hit (Florenz x Diamond Hit x Landadel) led the foal collection, going €120,000 (US$135,000) to a German stable while Sevilla (Vivaldi x Samarant x Rubinstein I) went to Denmark for €100,000 (US$112,000) and Special Gold (San Amour I x Don Schufro x Sandro Hit), the son of Olympic gold medalist Weihegold OLD, went to the USA for €90,000 (US$101,000).
More than half of the riding horses were sold to foreign countries–seven to the U.S., five to Sweden, three to Spain, two each to Belgium, Colombia and Austria and one each to France, Panama and Scotland.
Eleven foals will leave Germany, three to France , two each to the U.S. and Sweden and one to Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands and Switzerland.
