COMPIÈGNE, France, May 20, 2016–Carl Hester and Nip Tuck made it two for two in capturing the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Friday while the USA’s Arlene “Tuny” Page rode her Woodstock to third place in their best non-Freestyle result in three seasons on the European circuit.

Carl and 12-year-old KWPN gelding that is his top Olympic prospect for Great Britain scored 75.686 per cent for the win a day after taking the Grand Prix Thursday and the fourth straight victory in six starts this year.

Adelinde Cornelissen riding the 11-year-old KWPN stallion Aqiedo in their international debut here was second on 71.941 per cent. Aqiedo (Undigo x Metall) is the possible successor to Jerich Parzival, the former world No. 1 that is 19 years old but is entered in the Nations Cup here.

In the first European outing for The Dutta Corp. American team prospects, Arlene “Tuny” Page on Woodstock finished on 68.380 per cent in 10th place with Shelly Francis on Danilo on 66.220 per cent for 21st.

Based in Wellington, Florida, Tuny and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding placed 10th on 68.380 per cent in the Grand Prix that was the first European outing for seven combinations in The Dutta Corp. American Olympic team selection events. Shelly Francis of Loxahatchee, Florida on Danilo scored 65.529 per cent for 14th place in the Special.

“I honestly just rode with more conviction today and rode braver in the flying changes,” Tuny told dressage-news.com. “Yesterday was honestly a good feeling but not quite as through and loose as today.”

Tuny had high praise for the event, describing the atmosphere as “absolutely fantastic” and said it was a “great feeling” to be a part of the American squad.

The CDIO 5* Nations Cup, the third in the first official year of the trans-Atlantic series, begins with the Grand Prix Saturday.
