STADL-PAURA, Austria, Mar. 27, 2016–Victoria Max-Theurer and Blind Date won the CDI3* Grand Prix Sunday in the first competition of the year for her 2015 European Championship mount.
The 30-year-old rider looking to go to Rio de Janeiro this summer for her fourth Olympics scored 73.400 per cent for the win to lead an Austrian sweep of the top three places in the qualifier for the Freestyle.
Christian Schumach on Auheim’s Picardo placed second on 68.520 per cent and Belinda Weinbauer on Don Walesko third on 68.460 per cent.
Victoria and Blind Date were at the top of the Olympic rankings for their geographic group to earn Austria an individual start at the Rio de Janeiro Games. She has competed in three Olympics so far, starting with Athens in 2004 when she was 18 years old.
