LIER, Belgium Mar. 4, 2016–France’s Karen Tebar on Don Luis won the CDI4* Grand Prix Friday while Belgium’s Fanny Verliefden on Annarico seeking to qualify as an individuals for the Olympics placed second.

France is already qualified with a team and the result of 74.800 per cent for Karen and the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding seem certain to give the pair a start at the Games in Rio de Janeiro. The pair were the top finishing duo for France in last summer’s European Championships.

Fanny and Annarico scored 72.220 per cent for second that may not be enough to qualify the pair nearing the end of 10 days of intensive horse shows around the world, some with controversial results, to qualify for the Olympics.

Germany’s Juliane Brunkhorst on Sieger Hit was third on 70.800 per cent.
