OLDENBURG, Germany, Nov. 16, 2015–In only their second international Grand Prix Special, Beatrice Buchwald and Weihegold OLD won at the Oldenburg CDI4* Sunday to post back-to-back victories.
Beatrice and the 10-year-old mare scored 74.902 per cent for the victory over fellow German Carola Koppelmann on Deveraux B on 73.000 per cent and the Netherlands’ Katja Gevers on Thriller third on 70.784 per cent.
The victory for Beatrice, 26 years old and assistant trainer to German superstar Isabell Werth came after taking the Grand Prix on 74.720 per cent on Friday. The scores for the Grand Prix and the Special far outpaced the results from the first Big Tour show for the duo two months ago.
Beatrice and Weihegold OLD (Don Schufro x Sandro Hit) have created an impressive show record.
The partnership won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, the German championship for seven to nine-year-old dressage horses at Prix St. Georges in December, 2013 and a year later captured the Louisdor Prize, the German Grand Prix Championship for horses aged between eight and 10 years.
