MADRID, May 24, 2015–José Daniel Martín Dockx and Grandioso won the Grand Prix Special Sunday for back-to-back victories at this CDI3* in preparation for the European Championships with the aim of qualifying Spain for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Dani and the 16-year-old PRE stallion owned by Hampton Green Farms of Wellington, Florida scored 72.353 per cent with Portugal’s Manuel Vega in Ben Hur da Broa second on 71.353 per cent and Spain’s Jordi Domingo Coll on Wonder third on 70.824 per cent. The winning combination won the Grand Prix Friday.

The victorious duo, ranked No. 29 in the world, are looking to go to their second Europeans having competed at the 2013 championships in Denmark. The pair were on Spain’s team at the 2012 Olympics and 2014 World Games.

They competed in Wellington during the Adequan Global Dressage Festival as one of the growing number of foreign riders on the winter circuit in Wellington.
