MANNHEIM, Germany, May 3, 2015–Olympian Dorothee Schneider rode Santiago to win the Nürnberger Burg Pokal at Maimarkt-Turnier Sunday, the third of 15 events to qualify for the Final of the premier series for dressage horses aged seven to nine in Frankfurt in December.
Dorothee and the eight-year-old Hanoverian gelding posted 74.439 per cent for the win with Belgian Carl Cuypers on Bilan second on 71.317 per cent and German Julia Beckfeld on San Gennaro third on 70.537 per cent.
A highlight of the competition Sunday was the performance by Germany’s eventing multi Olympic and world champion Michael Jung who rode Desandro to fifth place on 69.024 per cent a week after the rider’s victory in the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event.
Dorothee joins Isabell Werth who won on Lord Carnaby at the circuit’s seqson-opening event at Hagen a week ago and Matthias Bouten on Fraeulein Auguste who placed first at Redefin to qualify for the 24th annual final..
