WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 27, 2015–America’s top rider, Great Britain’s Olympic gold medalist and another half-dozen Olympians are entered in the largest international competition ever staged in the Western Hemisphere, highlighted by the $200,000 CDI5* event that is the richest dressage event in the world this year.

Steffen Peters is bringing from his base in San Diego, California his World Games mount Legolas for the top rated Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI5* and the new-to-Grand Prix Rosamunde for the companion CDI3*.

Laura Tomlinson, Great Britain’s Olympic team gold medalist and individual bronze winner, will debut her 11-year-old KWPN mare Unique at Grand Prix in the CDI3*.

A ceremony to honor Olympians to add luster to the only CDI5* in the Americas is being planned by sponsors Diamante Farms and Wellington Equestrian Realty for the Feb. 4-8 event at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (see separate report).

More than 220 rides are scheduled, mostly for the CDI5* and CDI3* Grand Prix levels and the small tour that is important in this year of the Pan American Games where one nation with a mixed Big Tour/Small Tour team will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games.

Steffen on Legolas will lead a big U.S. contingent at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center where the Global circuit is breaking records in its fourth year.

American Olympian Lisa Wilcox will ride Pikko del Cerro HU in the 5* and Denzello in the 3* while the 2012 Olympic reserve pair of Heather Blitz and Paragon will perform for the first time since September.

The lineup will also include Canadian Olympic combination Jacqueline Brooks on D Niro, Belinda Trussell and Anton and Christilot Boylen on Drentano;  Swedish Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén in both Grand Prix and Spanish champion and Olympian José Daniel Martín Dockx on the U.S.-owned Grandioso.

The international competitions are so big that the veterinary check has been scheduled over two days.

The Prix St. Georgea which has more than 50 entries is tentively planned for the Van Kampen covered arena as the two CDI Grand Prix will take over the centerpiece international arena.
