MECHELEN, Belgium, Dec. 27, 2014–Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival overcame big differences in scores to narrowly beat out Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic to win the World Dressage Masters CDI5* Grand Prix Saturday, just five days before the Dutch gelding officially turns 18 years old.

The Dutch team rider and the KWPN gelding were awarded 77.740 per cent with a low of 74.600 per cent and third placing from Peter Holler of Germany at E and a high of 83.500 per cent and first place from Jacques Van Daele of Belgium at B.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and his 2012 Olympic mount Watermill Scandic scored 77.149 per cent in the first competition for the pair since the World Equestrian Games last August. It was also the highest Grand Prix score for Patrik and the 15-year-old KWPN stallion since competing in Florida two years ago.

Holland’s Danielle Heijkoop and Siro were third on 75.640 per cent.
