STOCKHOLM, Nov. 30, 2014–Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén riding Don Auriello in the first show since the World Equestrian Games in Normandy last summer won the Sweden International World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday before heading to Florida for the winter circuit.
The six-time Swedish Olympian and the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 80.875 per cent for the victory in the fourth leg of the World Cup Western European League although she told dressage-news.com she is not seeking a start in the Final in Las Vegas next April.
Hans Peter Minderhoud on Glock’s Flirt, who had won the Grand Prix Saturday with a personal best score, placed second on 79.250 per cent.
Sweden’s Minna Telde on Santana was third on 76.550 per cent.
Germany’s Sönke Rothenberger on Favourit, that was Tinne’s mount in two European Championships before being traded to the Rothenbergers two years ago, placed fourth on 75.225 per cent.
“I’m really pleased,” Tinne said. “He was in over-drive yesterday in the Grand Prix because this is our first show since the World Championships and he was a feeling a bit too happy! Today I was maybe a little bit careful, but anyway I’m delighted with our result.”
The results put Germany’s Fabienne Lütkemeier at the top of the WEL standings on 54 points after four of nine World Cup qualifiers. Adelinde Cornelissen, twice the World Cup champion on Jerich Parzival, on 37 points was tied in second place with Agnete Kirk Thinggaard of Denmark and Jessica von Bredow-Werndl of Germany.
Hans Peter moved up to fifth place on 20 points while Sönke Rothenberger was in the seventh spot on 15 points.
The next WEL World Cup qualifier is Olympia London in three weeks where Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, the world’s No. 1 partnership and holder of all three world Grand Prix records, top the entries.
