STUTTGART, Germany, Nov. 22, 2014–Isabell Werth and Bella Rose captured the German Masters CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday in the first competition for the pair since their World Games team gold medal performance in August.
The pair edged team mates Kristina Sprehe and Desperados FRH who placed second on 78.540 per cent with Dorothee Schneider on Silvano in third on 75.060 per cent for a German sweep of the top four places.
American Kathleen Raine of Murietta, California on Breanna placed fifth with 71.540 per cent, a personal best for the duo that has spent the past six months competing in Europe. The pevious Grand Prix high score for Kathleen and the 14-year-old Hanoverian mare was 71.320 per cent in Cappeln, Germany in August.
Two of the five judges awarded scores above 80 per cent for Isabell and Bella Rose that have been competing at international Grand Prix for only 18 months.
Isabell scored her first ever CDI Grand Prix result of 80 per cent on Bella Rose this summer, which the combination repeated at Normandy before pulling out of the world championships when the hard footing caused sore hooves for the chestnut.
