LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Nov. 7, 2014–Mette Rosencrantz on De Noir won the Intermediate 1 championship Friday to kick off three days of United States Dressage Finals of adult amateur and open competitions for titles from training level to Grand Prix.

Mette of Topango, California rode the 14-year-old black Hanoverian gelding to a score of 72.632 per cent while Susanne Benne of Satellite Beach, Florida on Zonnerhall placed second on 68.816 per cent.

Devon Kane of Wellington, Florida rode her Danish Warmblood gelding Destiny to the Grand Prix championship with a score of 72.000 per cent while last year’s Intermediate I Champion Emily Miles of La Cygne, Kansas on her American Warmblood stallion WakeUp were reserve champions on 69.067 per cent.

Patti Blackmore of Louisiana, Missouri and Rubico, third in the 2013 First Level Adult Amateur division, claimed the Second Level Adult Amateur Championship with a score of 71.905 per cent. Jessica Iorio of Foxboro, Massachusetts and Roulette placed second on 68.810 per cent.

The Training Level Open Championship was won by Patricia Becker of Wadsworth, Illinois on the five-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Edward with a score of 77.933 per cent while Mike Suchanek of Cambridge, Minnesota and Hanoverian mare Fleur De Lis L were runnersup on 74.667 per cent.

Heather Blitz of Medfield, Massachusetts–reserve for the U.S. team at the 2012 Olympics–rode Ripline to Third Level Open Championship on a score of 71.239 per cent. The pair won the national six-year-old title in the summer. Debbie Hill of Gurley, Alabama and Boccaccio IOF were second on 69.872 per cent

The Fourth Level Adult Amateur Championship was dominated by Rachael Hicks of Prospect, Kentucky as she claimed both the Champion and Reserve honors with her two mounts–Fabio Bellini on 71.750 per cent stablemate Don Cartier with 70.458 per cent.

 

Jacqueline Beasley of Lexington and Winston took the Intermediate I Adult Amateur Championship with 67.632 per cent while Lauren Thornlow of Monroe, Washington and Royal Konig earned reserve championship with 67.193 per cent.

Grand Prix adult amateur championship went to Alice Tarjan of Frenchtown, New Jersey on Elfenfeuer with a score of 68.133 per cent. Janne Rumbough of Palm Beach, Florida on her PRE gelding Junior placed second on 65.000 per cent. Janne, in addition to riding in these championships, is the owner of My Lady, the Danish Warmblood mare ridden by Mikala Münter Gundersen on the Danish team at last summer’s World Equestrian Games.
