TALLINN, Estonia, Oct. 3, 2014–Inessa Merkulova rode the big-moving Mister X to a personal best score to win the World Cup Grand Prix Friday and log the sixth victory this year for the Russian pair.
Inessa and the 10-year-old Trakehner gelding scored 73.020 per cent for the win over Ukraine’s Inna Logutenkova on Don Gregorius with 70.040 per cent and Sweden’s Malin Hamilton on Fleetwood in third on 68.640 per cent.
The World Cup event is the sixth of seven shows in the Central European League in which the top two combinations will qualify for the final in Las Vegas next April.
The Grand Prix Freestyle scheduled for Saturday will decide points to be awarded to competitors. Inessa and Mister X with 20 points rank eighth on the CEL standings.
