ZANDHOVEN, Belgium, Sept. 13, 2014–Jeroen Devroe on Eres DL won the De Kraal International CDI3* Grand Prix Special Saturday for the second straight victory for Belgium’s World Games combination. America’s Arlene Page on Woodstock placed second.
Jeroen and the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding scored 69.392 per cent , a new high in the Special that came after winning the Grand Prix Friday. for the win, just three weeks after their World Equestrian Games performance in Normandy, France. This was the fifth show since starting international Grand Prix in May.
Arlene Page of Wellington, Florida rode her Woodstock to second place on 69.157 per cent in only the second CDI Grand Prix show for the partnership.
Sweden’s Juliette Ramel on Ten Points was third on 68.647 oer cent.
American Katherine Bateson-Chandler also of Wellington on Wellnetta placed fourth in the Special on 66.686 per cent.
Tuny Page placed second on Alina in the Grand Prix, but Woodstock, an 11-year-old KWPN gelding she bought almost two years ago, showed his lack of ring experience and placed eighth.
On Saturday, however, their ride was marked by several marks of eight, especially in passage.
She will ride Alina in the Freestyle Sunday, their last European competition for this year and will return to their Wellington base later this month to prepare for the Global Dressage Festival next winter.
