HARTPURY, England, July 12, 2014–Denmark’s Anders Dahl posted his first victory on Wie-Atlantico de Ymas in winning the International Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night and rode the spectacular Selten HW to first place in the Intermediate 1.

Anders, who lives fulltime in Britain, scored 73.525 per cent in winning the Grand Prix Freestyle on Wite-Atlantico, the 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding.

Britain’s Hannah Biggs on her Weltzin placed second with 69.775 per cent with Ireland’s Roland Tong on Pompidou third on 69.750 per cent.

Wie-Atlantico was ridden by Carl Hester for a couple of months in 2012, including in Florida, after Fiona Bigwood, Anders’ wife, competed the horse at the world championships in Kentucky in 2010. Juan Matute, the Spanish multi-Olympian now based in Florida, began Wie-Atlantico’s Grand Prix career in 2007.

Anders and Selten HW scored 74.000 per cent to place first in the CDI3* Intermediate I with Great Britain’s Charles William Hutton and Douglas IV second on 72.789 per cent and New Zealand’s Vanessa Way and Don Archie in third place on 69.684 per cent.

Anders began competing Selten, an American-bred Hanoverian gelding (Sandro Hit x Hohenstein) a year ago. Now 10 years old, Selten took the triple crown of young horses in the United States, winning the national titles at four, five and six years old.
