BRNO, Czech Republic, June 20, 2014–Austria’s Heimo Kendlbacher & Ehrengold MJ won the CDI3* Grand Prix for the Special Friday, while Australia’s Alexandra Berns and Kings Legend placed second but short of the score required to compete in her nation’s selection trials for the World Equestrian Games team.
Heimo and the 11-year-old Westfalen stallion that began competing at Grand Prix just two months ago scored 65.760 per cent for the win over the Germany-based Alexandra and King’s Legend in second place on 64.760 per cent with Poland’s Gabriela Jaworska-Mazur on Zimba third on 63.920 per cent.
Alexandra and King’s Legend had hoped to qualify to be among the Australian combinations to compete at Fritzens, Austria CDI4* on the Fourth of July weekend that is the first of two WEG selection trials.
