PALGRAVE, Ontario, June 7, 2014–Diane Creech rode Devon L to victory in the World Cup Freestyle Saturday, posting the highest score for the pair in five years competing on the international Grand Prix circuit.
Diane and the 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 75.10 per cent for the win over Belinda Trussell and Anton on 71.85 per cent and Megan Lane and Caravella in third on 71.80 per cent in the first World Cup qualifying event in Canada in three years.
The win for Diane and Devon L (De Niro x Wolkenstein II) was the first of the year. Their previous best result was 73.175 per cent in placing second in the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida in January.
The event was a test of the equestrian facilities to be used for next year’s Pan American Games as well as the first World Cup qualifier in North American for the Final to be held in Las Vegas next April.
