SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California, Mar. 28, 2014–California’s top combinations appeared to ride Friday as warmup for the United States World Equestrian Game selection trials for which they are already qualified with lackluster scores in the California Dreaming Productions’ Festival of the Horse CDI3*.

Steffen Peters, Jan Ebeling and Kathleen Raine, who have already earned the scores required for June’s WEG selection trials in Gladstone, New Jersey used the opportunity to gain ring time to “tune up” their mounts for the coming months.

Steffen of San Diego, California and the 12-year-old Westfalen gelding (Laomedon x Florestan II) notched a score of 73.600 per cent while his 2012 London Games team mate Jan Ebeling of Moorpark with Rafalca earned 69.500 per cent to edge out Kathleen Raine of Murieta and Breanna on 69.440 per cent for second place.
