s’-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, Mar. 21, 2014–Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover posted their first victory this year in a dominating performance to win the Indoor Brabant World Cup Grand Prix Friday and his young Dutch team mate Danielle Heijkooop on Kingsley Siro was runnerup.
Edward and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding (Ferro x Donnerhall) posted nine marks of 10, six of them for piaffe, from the panel of five judges for a score of 81.040 per cent.
Danielle and Kingsley Siro, a 15-year-old KWPN gelding, placed second on 75.560 per cent with Italy’s Valentina Truppa on Fixdesign Eremo del Castegna in third on 73.020 per cent.
This weekend’s competition is the last of eight qualifying events in the Western European League that began last October to seek to be in the Final in Lyon, France April 17-21.
The Freestyle for which points count toward the standings is scheduled for Saturday.
- Isabell Werth rode Harmonie 278 for the first time in a Grand to win the CDI4* test with a score of 71.500 per cent. The 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding was ridden by Christina Henning at Hamburg last May in the horse’s only other Grand Prix start.
- Fellow German Nadine Capellmann and Girasol 7 placed second on 70.600 per cent with Switzerland’s Marcela Krinke Susmelj on Smeyers Molberg in third on 69.940 per cent.
