SYDNEY, Mar. 10, 2014–GV Bullwinkle, the 17-year-old Australian-bred gelding, has been sold to a Young Rider and will not be competed by Rozzie Ryan in Europe to seek a place on the team for the World Equestrian Games this summer, Equetrian Australia announced Monday.
Maree Tomkinson and Diamantina, as the runnerup combination in a selection trial, will be offered the spot to go to Europe.
Bullwinkle, also known as Rocky, was sent to Rozzie in 2010 to be sold after the horse’s eventing career with Olivia Bunn.
Rozzie and Bullwinkle campaigned for a position on the Australian dressage team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London and were named the team’s reserve.
Bullwinkle’s new owner is Annie Simmons of Queensland who is on the National Young Rider Squad for Dressage.
