DORTMUND, Germany, Mar. 9, 2014–The Netherlands’ 26-year-old Danielle Heijkoop rode Kingsley Siro to victory in the Meggle Champions Finale CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle on Sunday for the first kür victory by the pair since joining the senior ranks less than two years ago.

Danielle and the 15-year-old black KWPN gelding (Gribaldi x Hemmingway) scored 79.650 per cent with Germany’s Uta Gräf and Dandelion second on 74.750 per cent and Holland’s Patrick van der Meer and Uzzo in third on 74.150 per cent.

Danielle, of Rotterdam was riding the Under-25 division two years ago but, coached by superstar Anky van Grunsven, moved to the senior ranks in the summer of 2012. She rode on the silver medal Dutch team at the 2013 European Championships. She and Kingsley Siro notched their first Big Tour victories when they won both the Grand Prix and the Special at Oldenburg last November.

In the Grand Prix on Friday, the partnership placed second behind world No. 2 Helen Langehanenberg of Germany and Damon Hill NRW.
