WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 24, 2014–Spain’s 16-year-old Juan Matute, Jr. on Don Diego Ymas Friday won his second straight World Cup small tour competition with a score of 71.421 per cent at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.

Juan, the son of Spanish Olympian Juan Matute who is based in Wellington, also won the FEI Junior Team Test aboard Dhannie Ymas with a score of 70.189 per cent.

Juan and Don Diego, 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding by Don Frederico won the Intermediaire I with a score of 70.579 per cent two weeks ago for their first victory at small tour.

The pair competed on the Spanish team at last year’s European Junior Championships and have set the championships in Arezzo, Italy as a goal for this year.
