AMSTERDAM, Jan. 24–Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro came close to their world record score in taking the World Cup Grand Prix Friday while hometown favorite Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover posted a personal best of 81.860 per cent for runnerup.

Charlotte and the 12-year-old KWPN gelding (Negro Gerschwin) scored 85.820 per cent for the victory, a score that was 0.122 below their world record of 85.942 per cent set at the European Championships in Herning, Denmark last August.

Friday’s performance came just five weeks after the British double Olympic gold medal partnership created a Freestyle world record that complete the hat trick of Grand Prix level records.

The score for Edward and 13-year-old KWPN gelding (Ferro x Donnerhall) of 81.860 per cent eclipsed the 81.763 per cent that the Dutch combination posted at the Europeans last August that was their previous best.
