DRACHTEN, Netherlands, Jan. 3, 2014–Just three days after turning 19 years old, Interfloor Next One was ridden by Edward Gal to a personal best Grand Prix score to claim victory at ICNN Drachten CDI3* Friday.
The KWPN gelding (Jazz x Le Mexico) scored 73.140 per cent in what was the 29th CDI start for the partnership beginning with their first competition in 2008. The Grand Prix score at the first CDI in the world in 2014, surpassed their previous best of 72.980 per cent at Oslo in 2010.
Hans Peter Minderhoud ensured a Netherlands sweep of the top three places by placing second and third–with Glock’s Romanov for second on 72.660 per cent and on Johnson with 70.920 per cent for third.
Next One’s continent-hopping career has taken him twice to Florida and once to Rio de Janeiro. However, he has been competed sparingly in the past two years–at one show in 2012 and three in 2013, including Florida where the pair retired in the Grand Prix when Edward was suffering a serious bout of influenza.
