SÃO PAULO, Brazil, Nov. 23, 2013–Luiza Tavares de Almeida and Pastor won the Amil Dressage Cup CDI3* Grand Prix to post the third win for Brazil’s London Olympic combination in the series of events to select a team for the World Equestrian Games next summer.

Luiza and the 17-year-old Lusitano gelding scored 66.298 per cent for the 14th victory in 23 starts at Grand Prix level beginning two years ago.

Edneu José Senhorini and Xaparro do Vouga placed second on 64.362 per cent with Rogério da Silva Clementino on Signo dos Pinhais in third on 64.298 per cent–a debut for the pair who took over the ride when the rider, João Victor Marcari Oliva, was injured on the eve of the competition.

In addition to being one of the eight WEG selection events, the competition was an observation show for the Central American Games to be held in Chile in 2014 and for a team to represent Brazil at the Global Dressage Festival Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida in mid-February.
