WROCKLAW, Poland, Sept. 14–Switzerland’s Marcela Krinke Susmelj and Smeyers Molberg on Saturday won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday, while Germany’s Fabienne Lütkemeier on Qui Vincit Dynamis placed second one-quarter of a percentage point back.
Marcela and the 12-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Michellino x Rambo) that she competed at the European Championships three weeks ago scored 69.766 per cent for the win.
Fabienne and the 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Quattro B x Calypso II) placed second on 69.489 per cent and move on to the Freestyle at the fifth of six Central European League World Cup events leading to the final in Lyon, France next April.
Katarzyna Milczarek rode Ekwador to third place 68.170 per cent in their bid to make it to the fourth World Cup Final for the Polish rider and her 13-year-old stallion.
Australia’s Hayley Beresford on Jaybee Alabaster was fourth with a score of 67.745 per cent, in what was their fifth show since the German-based rider took over competing the Australian-bred horse at CDI at this competition a year ago.
The Freestyle is scheduled for Sunday.
