Adelinde Cornelissen and the 16-year-old Jerich Parzival will be heading to the European Dressage Championships in Herning, Denmark in two weeks as world number one in the musical chairs of the top slot that has alternated with Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro since the Olympics in London a year ago.
The Dutch rider and the chestnut KWPN gelding lead the FEI World Dressage Rankings by 97 points in the latest standings as of July 31, ahead of the 2013 World Cup champions Helen Langehanenberg of Germany and Damon Hill NRW, in second place with 2,802 points.
Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and her 11-year-old Olympic double gold partner Valegro, who became the first British combination to head the world rankings last September, are third with 2,536 points.
The biggest mover in the Top 40 is 27-year-old Michael Eilberg of Great Britain and 11-year-old gray mare Half Moon Delphi, who have shot up to 31st place from 159th thanks mainly to their Grand Prix Special victory at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage where they posted a personal best score of 74.583per cent, and second place in the Grand Prix Special at the Peterhof Dressur Gala in Perl-Borg, Germany.
Michael and Half Moon Delphi will make their senior European Championships debut in Herning, where they join Britain’s Olympic gold medal trio of Charlotte Dujardin on Valegro, Carl Hester on Uthopia and Laura Tomlinson on Mistral Hojris.
