COMPIÈGNE, France, July 11–The Netherlands led by a competition high score of 75.158 per cent from Stephanie Kooyman and Winston won the European Young Rider team Championship Thursday while Germany took the Junior team title.
Germany was runnerup in the Young Riders with Belgium third.
The Netherlands was runnerup in the Junior team competition with Denmarkthird.
Stephanie and the 10-year-old KWPN gelding were the second last of 57 combinations to go in the competition with Germany, led by Juliette Piotrowski and Sir Diamond, at the top of the individual placings at that stage with a score of 73.079 per cent.
Stephanie’s score pushed the Dutch team to a total of 72.465 per cent over Germany’s total of 71.228 per cent while Belgium was on 69.711 per cent.
Germany posted a total score of 72.414 per cent to take the Junior championship with the Netherlands posting 70.712 per cent and Denmark 68.865 per cent. Fourteen teams competed in the Junior championship.
