Great Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin and her 11-year-old Olympic partner Valegro have reclaimed the world No. 1 spot in the latest International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Dressage Rankings released Tuesday.
The London 2012 double gold medalists won both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle to Music at the recent CDIO5* Rotterdam that led to the pair moving to the top the rankings with 2,912 points, a 13-point lead over Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands and the 16-year-old Jerich Parzival. The Dutch rider’s chestnut KWPN gelding was successfully treated for cardiac arrhythmia and has been out of the competition arena for the last few weeks.
Reem Acra FEI 2013 World Cup Dressage champions Helen Langehanenberg of Germany and Damon Hill NRW are in third place with 2,802 points.
Other changes in the Top 10 were Edward Gal of the Netherlands and Glock’s Undercover up one place to fourth on 2,518 points and Germany’s Kristina Sprehe and Desperados in fifth on 2,517, just one point behind Gal.
The biggest mover in latest rankings is that of Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer and Augustin Old who moved from 49th to 12th place as a result of their victory in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special at home at CDI3* Achleiten and strong performances in Aachen, Germany at the end of June.
Two other major moves were Jan Ebeling of Moorpark, California and his Olympic celebrity partner Rafalca moving to 37th from 128th place and Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand and Akeem Foldager to 47th from 224 in the three months the pair have competed together.
