ALLENTOWN, New Jersey, May 25–Cesar Parra and Van the Man claimed the win in the ESDCTA Memorial Weekend Grand Prx Freestyle Saturday recovering from a shaky start in the Grand Prix a day earlier.
Cesar of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding (Obelisk x Landjonker) scored 70.125 per cent in the Freestyle with Sharon McCusker of Ashby, Massachusetts and Wrigley filling second place on 69.500 per cent and Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel of Woodbine, Maryland on Tonico Do Top in third on 68.200 per cent.
Cesar Parra and Van the Man had a shaky start at this competition with 61.638 per cent in the Grand Prix Friday, but the scores in the Freestyle included 72.875 per cent from Elizabeth McMullen of Canada and 71.875 per cent from Ulrike Nivelle of Germany.
Christopher Hickey of Colora, Maryland and Douglas Hilltop was the sole combination in the Grand Prix Special Sunday and scored 64.813 per cent.
