LEXINGTON, Kentucky, April 23–The U.S. Equestrian Federation has announced the award of grants 10 dressage rider/horse combinations to compete in Europe in preparation for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
Grants were awarded based on international competition experience and athlete’s prospect of contributing to a team or individual medal at WEG. in Normandy, France. The awards went to:
David Blake of Encinitas, California, on Melanie Pai’s Ikaros, a 13-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding;
Heather Blitz of Wellington, Florida, on her own Paragon, a 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding;
Jan Ebeling of Moorpark, California, on Ann Romney, Amy Ebeling and Beth Meyers’ Rafalca, a 16-year-old Oldenburg mare;
Shelly Francis of Loxahatchee, Florida on Patricia Stempel’s Doktor, a 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding;
Adrienne Lyle of Ketchum, Idaho, on Peggy Thomas’ Wizard, a 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding;
Tina Konyot of Palm City, Florida, on her own Calecto V, a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood stallion;
Steffen Peters of San Diego, California on Four Winds Farm’s Legolas 92, an 11-year-old Westfalen gelding;
Kathleen Raine of Murrieta, California on Jennifer Mason and David Wrightman’s Breanna, a 13-year-old Hanoverian mare
Guenter Seidel of Cardiff, California on Coral Reef Ranch’s Coral Reef Wylea, a 13-year-old Westphalian mare, and
Lisa Wilcox of Loxahatchee, Florida on Horses Unlimited Inc’s Pikko Del Cerro HU, a 10-year-old Hanoverian stallion
