BREMEN, Germany, Mar. 2–Victoria Max-Theurer and Blind Date won the euroclassics Pferde Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Saturday with a personal best score of 74.809 per for the partnership that began seven months ago.
The win was the third straight and fifth in nine starts for Austria’s top rider and the 11-year-old Hanoverian mare (Breitling W x Donnice x Donnerhall).
Denmark’s Maria Anita Andersen and Blue Hors Loxana placed second with a score of 71.638 per cent in only the second Grand Prix competition for the pair. Maria and Loxana, an 11-year-old mare (Diamond Hit x Luandra – Argentinus) competed only once before at a CDI, in Lingen, Germany last June with scores in the mid-60 per cent.
Sweden’s Minna Telde and the 16-year-old stallion Don Charly were third on 70.128 per cent.
“We still have room for improvement, but it was really fun,” Vici said after the ride. “This mare has worked great and has improved a lot especially in the piaffe and passage.”
