HERNING, Denmark, Feb. 27–Tickets for special packages for dressage at the European Championships in August have sold out, organizers reported Thursday, ahead of ticket sales for jumping.

Tickets for single days of competition are still available, said Jens Trabjerg, Show President of the European-Herning, and sales are “going very well.”

“It has been amazing to experience that we already, half a year before the competitions start, are sold out of the top category 1 tickets on Sunday, and of the best Partout Passes. We had hoped for this scenario, but not dared to believe in it before now, ” he said of the biannual championships to be held Aug. 25-28.

So-called Partout Passes–of which 475 were offered for dressage in special packages–were sold out, while 450 available for jumping were almost sold out.

The ECCO FEI European Championships will be represented at the major trade fair as part of the Danish Warmblood National Stallion Show at the MCH Exhibition Center Herning Mar. 6-10 that is expected to spark more ticket sales.

The MCH Arena where all dressage and jumping championship classes will be held can accommodate 10,000 spectators.

Jumping will kick off the Europeans with an opening speed class on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Team dressage medals will be awarded Thursday afternoon.

Dressage Grand Prix Special will be held Friday with the Freestyle as the finale event of the championships on Sunday.

A gala show and party is planned for Saturday.
