KENILWORTH, England, Sept. 15–Carl Hester and Uthopia captured the British Grand Prix Championships Saturday, a month after the pair helped Great Britain win Olympic team gold medal to end the nation’s century-long Olympic dressage medal drought.

Carl and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion (Metall x Odelia x Inspekteur) scored 76.55 per cent to capture their 61st national championship.

London Games team mate Laura Bechtolsheimer riding Andretti H, her backup Grand Prixm ount, was reserve on 73.34 per cent and Michael Eilberg and Half Moon Delphi third on 72.19 per cent.

Carl and Dances with Wolves also won the Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I national titles.

The pair scored 73.34 per cent in the I-1, with Isobel Wessels and Chagall second on 72.53 per cent and Spencer Wilton and Super Nova third on 70.74 per cent.

In the Prix St. Georges, Carl and Dances With Wolves claimed the title with 74.34 per cent, Spencer and Super Nova reserve on 71.76 per cent and Isobel and Chagall third on 70.24 per cent.
