LEUDELANGE, Luxembourg, Sept. 15–Henri Ruoste and Jojo Z captured the CDI3* Grand Prix to qualify for the Freestyle Saturday in only the second international Grand Prix for the Finnish rider and the nine-year-old Hungarian Sporthorse gelding. Compatriot Terhi Stegars on Axis TSF placed second and the USA’s Susan Dutta and Currency DC were third for their best result this year.
Henri and Jojo (Ginus x Örömhír x Justboy) were awarded 71.766 per cent and first place by all five judges. This was only the second competition for the pair, their first at Wiesbaden, Germany, in May.
Terhi and Axis were scored at 69.128 per cent while the Florida-based Susan Dutta and Currency were awarded 66.277 per cent in their second European competition this summer.
Christoph Koschel and Rostropowitsch NRW posted a second straight personal best in winning the Grand Prix Special Saturday with a score of 71.733 per cent, a day after claiming their first CDI victory when they won the Grand Prix with a personal best score.
The German rider and the 10-year-old Westfalen stallion (Rockwell x Wildcandela x Coriograf B) were competing in their fifth international event in the past year. In Friday’s Grand Prix, they scored 70.702 per cent with fellow German Matthias Kempkes and Riccoletto second on 69.638 per cent and Denmark’s Jon Pedersen and José Kilen third on 68.383 per cent.
The Danish pair moved up to second place in the Special with a score of 69.022 per cent while Matthias and Riccolletto were third on 68.578 per cent.
