SYDNEY, May 2–Rachael Sanna has been named Domestic Athlete of the Year and her horse, Jaybee Alabaster, Domestic Horse of the Year for Equestrian Australia’s Sport Achievement Awards for 2011.

Rachael’s top performances in 2011 were the Australian Grand Prix Championship and World Cup Pacific League Final winner. She and Jaybee Alabaster was one of 18 starting combinations at the World Cup Dressage Final in s’Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, last month.

She also won the Sydney CDI3* Grand Prix and Freestyle, Sydney Wrld Cup qualifier Grand Prix and Freestyle in addition to the Werribee World Cup League Final Grand Prix and Freestyle.

Jaybee Alabaster, a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Alabaster x Gloria x Glorieux), was her mount in her 2011 successes and was named Domestic Horse of the Year.

Rachael has been competing Jaybee Alabaster at CDIs for four years and the pair was on the Australian team at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010.
