Kristina Sprehe aboard Desperados 11 took only four competitions in eight months to leap from the Under-25 division into the Top 20 combinations in the world, according to the latest International Equestrian Federation rankings.

The German rider and the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion (De Niro x Wie Musik Wolkenstein II) were ranked 17th in the world, up from 125th a month earlier, in the standings for the end of March.

The standings, based on results from the past year, showed no change from the previous month at the top with The Netherlands’ Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival at No. 1 with 2729 points followed by Great Britain’s Carl Hester and Uthopia on 2526 points and and Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris on 2506 points to rank second and third, respectively.

Kristina garnered 2003 points from competing at four shows–Verden, Donaueschingen, Oldenburg and Dortmund–beginning last August.
