WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, Mar. 11–Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmsson-Silfvén ended her second Florida season wih another victory, this time on her top Grand Prix mount, Don Auriello, in the Olympic Grand Prix Special at the World Cup event at the Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge II on Sunday.
The result capped an amazing run of 12 wins on her three Grand Prix horses in two months on the Florida circuit, twice taking first and second places in Grand Prix that were unprecedented for Tinne who moved with her husband and son, Lucas, aged 10, for the winter.
Tinne and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Don Davidoff x Wey o mey x White Star) scored 74.156 per cent, with Canada’s Diane Creech on Devon L second on 69.422 per cent and Shawna Harding of Aiken, South Carolina, on Come On III third on 69.133 per cent.
In her first year in Florida, she launched Don Auriello’s Grand Prix career and has led to qualifying for the World Cup Final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, April 18-22 and most likely will be her choice to compete on the Swedish team at the Olympics in London ths summer.
Divertimento, a 10-year-old Westfalen gelding (Di Versace x Fatima x Ferragamo) is the latest of her mounts to reach Grand Prix and, along with her European Championship horse, Favourit, helped compile the competition record of 12 wins, four second placings and three third places.
The horses are all owned by Antonia Ax:son Johnson.
Tinne will head home this week so Don Auriello has time to re-acclimate ahead of the World Cup Final.
