WERRIBEE, Australia, Dc. 9–Rachel Sanna and Jaybee Alabaster posted a personal best Grand Prix score in their victory in the Pacific League World Cup Final Friday ahead of the freestyle to determine the region’s representative at ‘s-Herogenbosch, The Netherlands, next April.

The score of 71.128 per cent–all but one of the five judges awarded more than 70 per cent–for Rachel and the 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion (Alabaster x Gloria x Glorieux) supassed the previous high of 70.106 per cent the pair scored at the Sydney CDI last April.

New Zealand’s Louisa Hill and Bates Antonello also scored a personal best of 69.936 per cent to place second while Australia’s Chantal Wigan and Ferero who won this final in 2010 were third on 68.085 per cent.

The Kiwi couple led the New Zealand team to an historic Olympic berth at qualifying competition in Australia earlier this year and has remained here for the late year series of CDIs.

Saturday night’s freestyle will decide the combination to be noninated for the Final.

The Pacific League is allocated one combination in the World Cup Final but high transportation costs and tough quarantine requirements Down Under present additional obstacles to participation.
