RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Sept. 2–Isabell Werth and Warum Nicht FRH led a contingent of top Europeans to dominate the premiere of the €100,000 (US$144,000) Oi Athina Onassis Horse Show CDI4* Grand Prix in Rio de Janeiro Friday
The German combination scored 71.085 per cent with The Netherlands’ Edward Gal on Interfloor Next One second on 69.191 per cent and Victoria Max-Theurer of Austria on Eichendorff third on 68.468 per cent.
The Europeans filled the first five places in the €30,000 (US$42,600) Grand Prix.
Dressage is being held in conjunction with the Global Champions Tour as the largest equestrian event in Latin America this year.
The staging of the Olympic discipline of dressage at the Athina Onassis Show will be the first time is has been included with the GCT jumping show in its fifth year in Brazil.
