WARENDORF, Germany, Sept. 1–Fürstenball OLD ridden by Germany’s Ines Westendarp was the top qualifier for the final of the five-year-old Budeschampionate on Thursday with Florentinus V ridden by the USA’s Jennifer Hoffman placing second. The American rider was also leading the four-year-old division with Hofmarschall.
Fürstenball a stallion by Fürst Heinrich x Donnerhall scored 9.20 in the qualifiers at the German championships, one of the premier young horse competitions in the world.
Florentinus, a Westfalen stallion by Florestan I x Londonderry ridden by Jennifer scored 8.80 while Royal Classic 9 ridden by Germany’s Yvonne Reiser was third on 8.60.
Aboard Hofmarschall (Hotline x D’Accord), Jennifer scored 8.67 with the strognest gait, the walk, scoring 9.0.
Jennifer Hoffman and her husband, Jürgen, have their main business in Encinitas, California, but have been based in Germany since the beginning of this year for family reasons.
