RANCHO MURIETA, California, June 19–The USA’s Mette Rosencrantz and Finally won the Intermediaire I Freestyle Sunday to add to their Prix St. Georges victory at Golden State Dressage CDI1* in seeking to qualify for the Pan American Games selection trials.
Mette of Topanga, California, and Finally scored 72.083 per cent in the Freestyle with Heather Oleson and Escorial second on 71.208 per cent and Travey Lert and Udo third on 68.208 per cent.
Heather and Escorial won the Intermediaire I with a score of 67.939 per cent with Carolyn Adams and Winterprinz second with 67.588 per cent and Mette and Finally third with 66.053 per cent.
Mette and Finally won the Prix St. Georges with a score of 67.325 per cent with Chelsey Sibley on Contester II second on 66.535 per cent and Carolyn Adams and Winterprinz third on 66.272 per cent.
An extensive schedule of CDI1* events this year is aimed at providing opportunities for horse and rider combinations to qualify for the selection trials scheduled for the U.S. Equestrian Team Foundation headquarters in Gladstone, New Jersey, for a U.S. team for the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, in October. The Pan Ams will be the last opportunity for nations to qualify a team for the 2012 London Olympics. The U.S. has already qualified.
