LINGEN, Germany, May 22–Isabell Werth and El Santo NRW scored the pair’s best just a day after setting a personal best to squeak out a win Sunday over Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and Watermill Scandic H.B.C. in the Grand Prix Special at the International Dressage Festival CDI4*.
Isabell and the 10-year-old Rheinlander gelding scored 78.833 per cent with Patrik and his top international mount in second on 78.333 per cent and Isabell’s German World Equestrian Games team mate Christoph Koschel on Donnperignon in third place on 76.375 per cent. Isabell and the horse that she has been competing at Grand Prix for 15 months, posted a personal best score of 78.213 per cent in the Grand Prix Saturday.
As with the Grand Prix qualifying for the Special, the top eight places were filled by German and Swedish combinations, all scoring above 70 per cent.
Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg on Fürst Khevenhüller won the St. Georges Special qualifier for the 2011 Nürnberger Burg-Pokal Final with a score of 73.200 per cent, Brigitte Wittig on Belstaff W was second on 69.950 per cent and Nadine Capellmann on Diamond Girl third on 69.650 per cent.
