LINGEN, Germany, May 21–Isabell Werth on El Santo NRW posted a personal best score to top the Grand Prix qualifier for the Special with German and Swedish combinations taking all the first eight places and all with scores above 70 per cent at the International Dressage Festival CDI4* Saturday.

Isabell and the 10-year-old Rheinlander gelding that have competed at only five shows since starting Grand Prix 15 months ago, scored 78.213 per cent with Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on his World Equestrian Games mount Watermill Scandic H.B.C. second on 76.511 per cent with the increasingly successful German pair of Helen Langehanenberg and Damon Hill NRW third on 76.362 per cent. Christoph Koschel on his German team WEG mount, Donnperignon was fourth on 75.745 per cent and fellow German Anabel Balkenhol on Dablino in fifth with 74.872 per cent.

Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén placed sixth with a personal best 73.511 per cent on Don Auriello, the nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding she first started competing at Grand Prix while in Florida this winter.

Patrik Kittel and Sandro Boy continued their winning ways in the small tour, taking the Intermediaire I with a score of 74.474 per cent following Friday’s victory in the Prix St. Georges. Germans Brigitte Wittig on Balmoral W was second on 73.316 per cent and Stefanie Wolf and Dancing Dynamite were third on 70.763 per cent. Australia’s Hayley Beresford on Belissimo NRW that she plans to move up to Grand Prix was fourth on 70.289 per cent.
