Chantal Wigan and Ferero.

WERRIBEE, Australia, Mar. 25–Chantal Wigan, the winner of the Pacific League of the 2011 World Cup, began her quest to represent her nation in 2012 by riding Ferero to victory in the PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix Friday.

Since returning home late last year after three years in Europe, Chantal and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding have won four of the five classes they have contested so far, but are not included in the national elite squad from which Australia’s team for the 2012 Olympics will be selected.

In Friday’s Grand, the pair scored 66.447 per cent with Gitte Donvig continuing the success on Port Said 10, the 15-year-old horse her mother, Mary Hanna, competed in Europe three years ago, in second on 65.723 per cent and Heath Ryan and his 2009 World Cup partner, Regardez Moi, third on 64.426 per cent.
