‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, The Netherlands, Mar. 25–Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival posted their personal best score at Grand Prix of 82.043 per cent to win the qualifying event for the final World Cup Freestyle series Friday.

The performance by The Dutch rider and the 14-year-old KWPN chestnut gelding by Jazz was dominant with all five judges placing her first and all giving the pair points above 80 per cent. Wojtek Markowski, president of the ground jury, awarded the pair 84.149 per cent, the highest score. Their previous highest Grand Prix score was 81.360 per cent at the CDI5* in Hickstead, England, last July.

Germany’s Isabell Werth and Warum Nicht FRH were the unanimous choice for second place on 75.277 per cent while Denmark’s Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein on her championship seasoned Digby was third on 73.745 per cent. Holland’s Hans Peter Minderhoud on Exquis Nadine finished fourth on 72.596 per cent while the diminutive German rider Helen Langehanenberg on Responsible OLD continued to shine in this winter’s World Cup Western European League by finishing fifth on 72.298 per cent.

The USA’s German-based Catherine Haddad and Winyamaro, the only non Europeans in the competition, scored 69.085 per cent for 12th place.

The Grand Prix Freestyle to Music which will count toward the final standings that determine combinations for the Final in Leipzig, Germany at the end of the next month is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
