WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 15–An Emerging Athletes Program for young dressage riders will be launched by Olympians Robert Dover, Lendon Gray and Courtney King-Dye.

The program will be based on the successful U.S. Hunter Jumper Association’s Emerging Athletes Program to develop complete horsemen by implementing a system of identifying and nurturing talented young riders and providing them with support and assistance in achieving their full potential.

Robert said that early planning call for the program to be built around the new dressage stadium planned for the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center and Lendon Gray’s Youth Dressage Festival. The festival was created by Lendon as a unique equestrian competition and educational event conducted annually by Dressage4Kids, Inc., in 2011 July 8 to 10.

In addition to Lendon’s festival, two similar programs could be arranged at the PBIEC dressage stadium bringing in riders under 21 years of age from around the country.

He is considering mentoring the top young rider on his own horse.

The Emerging Athletes Program for the jumpers is overseen by a committee of Olympians and other leaders in the jumper world.
