LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Mar. 14–The FEI, the International Equestrian Federation, has extended the period of consultation on new statutes to allow restructuring of the governing body of horse sports.

A vote on restructuring was originally scheduled at an Extraordinary General Assembly in Lausanne May 6.

The consultation process, which started Jan. 18, sought input from the national federations and the Bureau on the restructuring proposal. Following this input, a first draft of the revised Statutes was sent to national federations Feb. 11, with a deadline of Mar. 25 for further comments.

However, an FEI statement said, some national federations requested an extension that has been given.

The Extraordinary General Assembly will still take place on May 6 as scheduled calling for a vote on statutory changes of FEI development, a session on the format of an annual Sports Forum and a debate on the restructuring process.
