WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, Dec. 7–The Palm Beach Post reported Tuesday on the cancellation of the 2011 World Dressage Masters at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center citing high costs and a lack of commitment by top international riders for the event.
WDM has been part of Palm Beach’s Winter Equestrian Festival for two years and was the centerpiece of the dressage circuit in South Florida.
The report in the Palm Beach Post (click here to read the complete version) quoted the organizers as saying that the cost of staging WDM was about $200,000 and that the lack of commitment of top European riders would make it unecomomical.
