OCALA, Florida, Dec. 4–Requests and orders for Totilas frozen semen for the 2011 season are being accepted by Yancey Farms.
Judy Yancey, the agent for Paul Schockemöhle’s Performance Sales International, the new owner of the 10-year-old KWPN stallion, said: “I have been given the O.K. to begin taking requests/orders for the 2011 season for Totilas frozen semen.
“It will be priced by the individual insemination dose, but you can be sure that the quality, coming from Schockemöhle’s will be excellent. And the Totilas frozen has proven fertility.”
Price per dose has not firmed up, she said, and there will not be a live foal guarantee.
“If you would like to be put on the list, please email me, then I have a date stamp and number of doses desired,” Judy advised. “This will help in ascertaining how many doses are required over here, and will help in our ‘lobbying’ efforts to have Totilas frozen semen in the U.S. and Canada.
“I will know after the first of the year what the terms and any conditions may be. And I should also know what our allotment will be. I will be visiting in person and will continue to lobby for our team!”
Totilas semen under the previous ownership was €5,500 and was restricted to about 175 mares, including Brentina in the U.S.
Dressage-news.com has been told the price in Europe is expected to be about €8,000 (US$10,700), with €4,000 payable on order and €4,000 when the mare is in foal.
Judy says she expects to work out the details soon for the North American market.
